This film is perfection.
The very first full-length sci-fi film ever made. Beautiful sets and costumes. AMAZING special effects. SUPERB acting (Brigitte Helm, in particular, playing 5 different characters, is an exquisite actor and dancer -- I will certainly look for more of her films!) The choreography, particularly in the "workers" sequences is brilliant and beautiful.
A MUST SEE for anyone who loves sci-fi, because everything made since, in one way or another, has been influenced by this masterpiece. I also recommend it for those who are interested in social commentary films, particularly those about classism, worker's rights, and pre-WWII German politics.
I watched the restored version, in the theatre, with an HD re-recorded score, and previously lost scenes. If you can find the newly restored edition, I highly recommend it.
